Démarche artistique
La photographie ancienne m’a amenée à établir un lien de parenté avec ma peinture qui cherche à créer un point de convergence. J’élabore des espaces ambigus qui font écho à des empreintes disparues, plus précisément avec des daguerréotypes altérés par le temps ; ceux-ci deviennent champs d’investigation et points de références : des reflets mémoriels. Ce sont des évocations de l'invisible et des pistes de surfaces qui inspirent ma peinture, le tableau en devient une image fugitive.
La lumière est un point de repère essentiel dans mes tableaux. Ce sont des territoires abstraits où j’utilise des variations : teintes monochromes, masses claires et sombres, opacité et transparence, éléments statiques ou mobiles, flous ou distincts. L’insertion de figures géométriques agit comme un dispositif optique qui crée à la fois un glissement de perspective et un rappel de la photographie. C'est avant tout un travail qui interpelle ces références absentes et des mémoires disparues.
Artist Statement
Early photography intersects with my painting practice to create a point of convergence. I construct ambiguous spaces echoing traces that have disappeared, more precisely in daguerreotypes altered with the passing of time. Fields of investigation, they become a point of reference; sites of memories. It is the evocation of the invisible and traces on surfaces that inspire my painting; the canvas becomes a fugitive
image.
Light is an essential aspect of my paintings which form abstract territories where I deploy a system of fluctuations: monochromatic tones, light and obscure forms, opacity and transparency, and blurred and precise spaces. The insertion of geometric figures is transcribed as an optical device establishing a shifting perspective at the same time pointing to photography. My work is an interrogation of absence and lost memories.
